Manufacturing: Semiconductor (Nanomachining Mask Repair)

A global supplier to the semiconductor and photomask making industries asked AI to create an environmental control unit (ECU) that could service — on demand — any of its nanomachining mask repair tool systems. The AI solution involved configuring a standard, vertical ECU to match up to the client's various types of mask repair products. A feature of the newly configured system allows the customer to communicate with the tool anywhere in the world and gain direct access to the ECU's controls and diagnostics by simply logging onto the Internet through a Windows-based program.
