Over the past eight years, Air Innovations and its personnel have been the recipients of numerous awards of distinction from regional organizations. These awards recognize innovations in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration and contributions to manufacturing excellence, expanding business in the greater Upstate New York area, and improving the communities in which the Air Innovations family lives and works. These awards include the following:

April 2012 Business of the Year Finalist

Air Innovations was named Business of the Year finalist by CenterState Corporation for Economic Opportunity during its annual meeting April 4, 2012. More than 80 companies were nominated in four categories. Air Innovations was represented in “member business with fewer than 50 employees.” Applicants were judged by the following criteria: innovation; financial performance; customer service; employee relations; and, community service. Applications were reviewed by previous Business of the Year winners and CenterState senior staff. Centerstate is a business leadership and economic development organization that serves 12 counties in Upstate New York.

October 2011 and 2010 Economic Champion

For the past two years, Air Innovations has been acknowledged by CenterState Corporation for Economic Opportunity for contributing to the region’s growth by adding employees, increasing capital expenditures and receiving state and national recognition. CenterState is a business leadership and economic development organization that serves 12 counties in Upstate New York.

September 2011 Engineer of the Year
Heating, Piping and Air Conditioning Engineering Magazine

Lawrence E. Wetzel, P.E., chairman of the board of Air Innovations was the recipient of the inauguralHPAC “Engineer of the Year” award. This honors a mechanical or professional engineer engaged in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration or building automation, and who has made significant contributions to his or her company and customers, the HVAC/R industry, and his or her community.

List of fastest growing privately held companies in America

Air Innovations was named 102nd fastest growing manufacturer in the U.S.A. by posting a 71% increase in revenue growth between 2007 and 2010. Inc. magazine is devoted to the principles of entrepreneurship.

May 2011 Manufacturer’s Association of CNY (MACNY) 12th Annual Hall of Fame Award

MACNY awarded this honor to Lawrence E. Wetzel, P.E. chairman of the board of Air Innovations.Wetzel was one of three executives in a 19-county region of New York State recognized for their long-standing leadership in manufacturing excellence, and for their commitment to the success of their businesses and communities.

Forty Under Forty

Awarded to Deborah Emery, CPA, Director of Purchasing and Finance. This program honors 40 people under the age of 40 who are committed to making their communities a better place to live. The competition considered individuals in the16-county region of New York State that extends from the Canadian border to Binghamton.

August 2010 4th Annual Inc. 5000
Air Innovations was named 113th fastest growing manufacturer in the U.S.A. Among the top 5000 privately held companies in America, Air Innovations placed #3466.

Awards were based on corporate revenues between 2006 and 2009, during
which Air Innovations posted a 51% increase. New York State was headquarters to the third most Inc. 5000 companies in any state, with 353, including Air Innovations,represented.

Fast Track 50 Competition

Air Innovations placed #9 out of 21 small businesses in the 16-county Upstate New York region. Winners were credited for being “being the collective engine that is leading the region’s economic prosperity.” The Fast Track award was based on corporate revenues and employment levels for the past three fiscal years, the last year of which Air Innovations posted 30% growth.

Awarded to Deborah Emery CPA, Director of Purchasing and Finance. Deb competed from among CFOs in the 16-county Upstate New York region, and was honored for her achievements in ensuring Air Innovations’s growth and profitability, for her leadership and community involvement. Small Businesses were defined as those with revenues between $2 million and
$10 million.
